Who doesn’t want their social media profiles to be full of amazing posts that provide value to their target audience? We know how complicated and daunting content creation can be, so we are breaking it down into 4 steps.
Step 1: Create a basic framework.
Choose a theme for each day of the week. For example, Monday can be motivational Monday where you’ll post a motivational quote, your goals for the week, etc. Assign a theme for the rest of the days of the week. This framework will help you stay consistent with your postings and never run out of ideas because you have a broad idea of what you should be posting. Don’t worry about strictly following this framework. The framework is meant to help you get organized and give you a place to start with content creation.
Step 2: Plan out announcements such as events, sales, etc.
Plan out any important announcements that need to be included in your posts for the next month, or the very least the next 2 weeks. This includes things like upcoming events, product launches, and sales. By creating this list before creating your content, you will be less likely to forget to post important information.
Step 3: Plan out and create content for the next 2 weeks.
Using your framework and important announcements list, create a post for the next 2 weeks (Monday-Friday). Gather pictures and videos that you want to use and write out a caption for each post. Be sure to include a call to action in each post. A call to action is something you want the person reading the post to do after seeing your post. Step 4: Post your content and monitor performance.
You can use platforms such as Hootsuite and Buffer to schedule your content in advance. Monthly, you should look at the analytics for each social platform you are on. Look at key metrics such as engagement rate, follower growth and the number of people who have seen your posts. Use the analytics to determine which posts have the most engagement. Then you can create more content like the posts with the higher engagement.
Here is an example of steps 1-3 for a fictional beauty subscription box business.

Tuesday-Self care tip
Wednesday-Women Crush Wednesday (WCW) make up edition
Thursday-Tutorial using box products
Friday-Lifestyle (fashion, home, etc.)
Step 2: Important announcements
Subscription box orders are due on Thursday.
Step 3: Create the content (1 week shown for example purposes).
